PLOT:
Outsiders team status update: Mr. Freeze is safely back in lock-up and the rest of the team continues to attempt to track down their escapees. It seems Freeze isn't the only one interested in removing Black Mask's security measure. Capitalizing on his reptilian powers of regeneration, Killer Croc is leaving behind him a trail of severed limbs and appendages in hopes of removing the deadly governor located within his body.

Clayface on the other hand has taken an all together different approach. Stalking the neighborhoods of Wyoming, Clayface has been abducting people from the suburban mining town of Fort Benton and forcing them to try and excavate the device from his person like coal from a mineshaft. So far the results have been less than stellar and more and more people are going missing only to turn up later encased in a wall of hardened mud.

This time Clayface has decided to go pro - abducting a miner and his two young sons for collateral. Analyzing trace elements left behind, Brion determines that Clayface has begun picking up more and more particles of a Calcium Bentonite, a type of clay with greater adsorption and absorption rates. This makes it easier for the men to step inside the mud monster and look for the device.

Realizing that Clayface might try and take more than one miner to complete this job, Brion and Rex set a trap at the local mining bar in town and wait for Karlo to strike. When Clayface arrives he quickly becomes wise to the trap and attempts an escape but not before Metamorpho can transform himself into Calcium Bentonite and hitch a ride with the beast, allowing Geo-Force to track them back to his lair.

Making his way down below, Brion makes a pit stop through an underground field of methane gas, bringing it with him when he bursts through the walls of Clayface's mineshaft den and rescues Rex and the others. Quickly escaping through the mineshaft elevator, Brion ignites the methane field, flash frying Clayface as they race towards surface. The blaze reaches temperatures exceeding 1,000º Celsius and Clayface's form crumbles to pieces inside the underground kiln. This leaves only Killer Croc to track down, but Creeper, Katanna and Halo might just have a little trouble in finding the Croc when they realize they're being followed by Man-Bat!
